A RIVER BANK DREAM .....
DeCOTY COFFEE
It was a time of a great "depression" ........ the stock market crash of "29" when it all came unraveled ........ like a big ball of twine. But on the banks of the "Concho River" was C.T. Ducote and his son, brewin over an ole coffee roaster, with business in mind instead of fun. Cause there was one thing that every American refused to give up. That at sunrise ....... They were gonna need coffee in their cup.
So beginning in San Angelo, grocery stores had coffee "Red Triangle" the brand. And soon "DeCoty Coffee Company" was being tasted throughout the land. Using principles of quality and service ..... missed with integrity and vision .... this Cajun family ..... with pride and honor ever strayed from their decision. With knowledge from the "ol school" and wisdom from walking in his dad shoes, Curry Ducote ..... known as "Coffee Joe" a man that sure enough paid his dues.
Diversification brought the idea for those like him who loved to hunt and fish. His beans in a bucket campfire cooker granted his final wish. And he knew to produce his invention he'd have to travel to Abilene, to the folks at Disability Resources and partner up with Billy Beans.
What began in a pitched tent with a man, boy and a beautiful river stream. Today his son Charles and daughter Laura are carrying on their dad and granddad's dream. It's been a family tradition for 71 years, from the ol' Model T to the Lexus. The DeCoty Coffee Company rooted and founded in San Angelo, Texas.
Curry Ducote was that boy with his dad on the Councho River Banks, and we're gathered her today not to say goodbye ....... But to just thanks.
Today he's standing on another riverbank, crystal clear with his ol' fishing pole. Sippin on a cup of DeCoty Coffee, it's our friend and neighbor Coffee Joe.
In Memory ....... A Dream Come True
